It is at the beginning of their adventure, when Salut Beauté was looking for materials for its first collection, that she realized the extent of the phenomenon.
What we call by abuse of language “scraps of fabrics” are in reality sheds filled with unused rolls, destined to be forgotten or even destroyed.
All the fabrics used have been recovered from manufacturers (mostly French, sometimes European), from brands or from organizations that centralize the “scraps” of big houses.
So much so that, since the creation of Salut Beauté, the company has not produced any fabric.
In addition to being an amazing way to repurpose existing materials, upcycling has become a real playground for them, a creative opportunity. Recently, the brand has also been upcycling yarns, which consists of recovering surplus unused spools to make fabric. Salut Beauté is convinced that many processes are still to be discovered and implemented, for an even more responsible, innovative and intelligent fashion, and it intends to innovate in this sense.
Salut beauté creates “the new uniform” of perfectly and subtly matched outfits. The goal is to get dressed in a few seconds, without effort, but with style.
All designed in Paris and made with beautiful materials (wool and cotton blends), easy to care for, from the offcuts of famous houses. The designers take their inspiration from unexpected worlds with glee: the worker, the spaceman, the pilot, the detective and the military are all represented in the first collection with a quirky twist, in the form of five jacket and trouser sets designed to flatter the figure while being comfortable.
The emphasis is also on the details: from the buttons (hand-designed by the designers) to the lining (in pink satin) to the rather surprising labels, nothing is left to chance, so as to make the garment an experience in its own right.
After meeting at Kapten (former private chauffeur), Mathilde Gindre and Sarah Nimir, self-proclaimed Brenda & Brenda, realized that they shared the same desire to undertake in fashion, “as well as the same dubious humor”, as they like to say.
Mathilde, whose father runs a textile company specializing in professional clothing, has always been immersed in this world and has always cherished the hope of being part of it one day. After a master’s degree in entrepreneurship at EM Normandie and a few years at Frichti and Kapten, this is exactly what happened. Sarah, born of dentist parents, was not predestined to start a career in fashion and yet, it is a passion that has followed her since childhood. After a preparatory course at HEC, she entered ESCP and explored eclectic fields (Parrot, Cartier, Kapten) before launching herself.
Good news : Salut beauté is launching its new ‘Seventies fantasy’ capsule on March 8, 2022, don’t hesitate to check it out!
