Fashion Farm Foundation once again brought Hong Kong talents to Paris Fashion Week. PabePabe, PONDER.ER and VANN celebrate the SS22 fashion trend in a phygital way.
Fashion Farm Foundation (FFF) presents the Spring/Summer 2022 collections of PabePabe, PONDER.ER and VANN at HKFG Paris SS22, an international fashion program under the auspices of CreateHK. During the fashion week, three Hong Kong brands unveiled their latest collection digitally and physically, repeating last season’s extraordinary presentation method.
Virtuality and reality come together in the power of Hong Kong fashion. On the second day of Paris Fashion Week, FFF posted three individual fashion presentation videos for PabePabe, PONDER.ER and VANN. Most Asian media and buyers still can’t travel abroad to attend fashion week this season. However, the digital presentations allow them and the public to enjoy the new designs of the three brands and feel the power of Hong Kong fashion through the Internet. Meanwhile, FFF launched its SS22 collections and showed PabePabe transforming everyday electrical appliances into leather goods.
For the SS22 collection, PabePabe continues to create designs by repurposing and remaking off-the-shelf products, installing everyday electrical devices such as outlets, extension plates and machine buttons onto bag designs. This unique design method challenges the public’s everyday visual habits. The color selection of the leather is more subtle than previous collections in order to highlight the uniqueness of the various buttons and plugs applied to the leather items.
PONDER.ER explores masculinity through speed and movement. The PONDER.ER SS22 “Love for speed” collection once again takes inspiration from the standard concept of masculinity, qualities and behaviors associated with men. The collection focuses on “male adventurism”, how the manbox encourages men to engage in risky activities that are often related to speed, power and sometimes permission to hurt themselves or others. These acts of recklessness and liberation are digested through different perspectives, and interpreted with the brand’s signature style of liquefying and twisting known structures and concepts.
VANN evolves signature designs with fire and romance. The SS22 collection, Aperture, turns up the intensity of its designs for a rebellious and romantic look. Combining iconic and new pieces with 3 key elements – love, bullets and fire, there is a wider range of sizes with palm-sized heart earrings in hollow silver and striking mini heart studs. The unique heart-shaped earrings feature barbell and hoop details for a playful “piercing on piercing” look.
