Organic cotton is a natural, vegetable-based and environmentally friendly material for clothing. Cotton is today the most used raw material in the fashion industry. Fairytale.eco has chosen to use certified organic cotton in order to reduce the environmental impact of this raw material as much as possible and to ensure ethical production:
The cultivation of organic cotton requires up to 90% less water than the cultivation of traditional cotton. Moreover, it is grown without insecticides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
To ensure that your organic T-shirt is truly organic, fairytale.eco relies on certifications. These certifications allow you to be sure that the organic label is not used for green washing. There are several reliable and recognised labels such as the GOTS label. This label guarantees that your organic T-shirt contains at least 95% certified organic fibres and also verifies that the cotton remains organic and ecological throughout the production chain. There are also other labels such as Faitrade cotton or OCS which also guarantee that your clothes are really made of organic cotton.
