In Paris, some places feel like carefully kept secrets. Located on the ground floor of La Montgolfière Lamarck in the 18th arrondissement, ROND stands out as a distinctive address where music is given its rightful place.
Part café restaurant, part audiophile bar and part cultural space, it offers a rare experience listening differently, eating with intention and connecting with others in an intimate setting.
Inspired by the spirit of the Japanese jazz kissa, venues dedicated to high fidelity listening and the celebration of vinyl and sound quality, ROND represents a new generation of Parisian venues where sound is no longer a background element. Here, every detail has been designed to turn music into a collective and immersive experience, at the crossroads of taste, culture and human connection.
Listening as a shared experience
At a time of compressed playlists and accelerated music consumption, ROND offers a return to mindful listening. Behind its discreet façade on rue Joseph de Maistre, the space reveals a soft and luminous atmosphere opening onto square Carpeaux.
The core of the project is built around a Hark audio system, a Paris based loudspeaker brand handmade with care, designed to reproduce each track with precision and depth. This high fidelity approach turns music into something tangible. Textures emerge, silence gains meaning and emotions become more vivid.
Throughout the day, the musical selection naturally follows the rhythm of the venue without ever overwhelming conversation. Mornings bring light and sunny tones, lunchtime shifts into soulful and warm sounds, while evenings unfold into deeper and more enveloping grooves. Vinyl, the preferred medium, deliberately slows the pace and restores listening as an intentional act.
ROND is part of a growing cultural movement in France, the rise of audiophile bars that place sound quality at the centre of the social experience.
A vibrant programme between music and culture
ROND is not limited to music listening. The venue offers a programme designed as a space for transmission and sharing. Exclusive DJ sets, vinyl mixing workshops and intimate live performances shape the rhythm of the place. Music lovers, curious visitors and local residents come together in a relaxed atmosphere where discovery becomes a shared language.
This dynamic also extends beyond sound. Chef residencies, themed talks and cultural events regularly enrich the programme, making ROND a true creative hub within La Montgolfière. The venue maintains an open identity where sport, culture and gastronomy naturally interact.
Between brunch and terrace for this summer season
ROND continues to expand its universe with two new experiences designed as invitations to slow down. The first is a brunch served every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2.30pm. True to the spirit of the venue, the menu focuses on fresh seasonal cooking with subtle Asian influences.
Dishes include congee with soft boiled egg and house chilli oil, Turkish eggs with yoghurt sauce, a kimchi inspired grilled cheese and cauliflower with satay sauce. Sweet options include a seasonal fruit sando, homemade jam brioche French toast, granola and melon pan.
When the weather improves, ROND also reveals one of its most precious assets, its terrace overlooking square Carpeaux. This rare green escape in the Montmartre area offers a peaceful outdoor setting. It is the ideal place to enjoy a late brunch or a drink accompanied by vinyl records, far from the noise of the city.
Reservations are recommended to fully enjoy this urban and musical experience.
ROND, a hidden address that brings sound and life together
More than an audiophile bar, ROND represents a certain vision of city life and human connection. By bringing together high fidelity sound, seasonal cuisine and cultural programming in a single space, it redefines how people go out in Paris.
In this quiet bubble in the 18th arrondissement, music is no longer background noise but becomes an experience to be shared. A rare invitation to listen, taste and connect in a different way.
We tested the ROND experience and the verdict is clear. The venue delivers on its promise. With remarkable sound quality, a warm atmosphere, thoughtful cuisine and a strong sense of community, it creates a rare pause within the Parisian landscape. An address worth visiting for a quiet coffee, a brunch, an after work moment or an immersive musical escape.
