Kodd Magazine went to the spring/summer 2016 edition of Première Vision for you. From 10 to 12 February, the international PremièreVision trade fair for fashion professionals took place at the Villepinte exhibition centre.
Created in 2005, this year’s show focuses on 6 key sectors in fashion, and brings together for the first time in an event of this magnitude: yarns and fibres, apparel fabrics, leather and fur, textile design and creation, accessories and clothing. Why such a fair? For the organisers, it is a question of bringing together complementary trades in a single event, in a single place, in order to allow meetings, interactions and to create a dynamic between fashion professionals. It’s as if fashion were revealing itself in order to better define itself.
For the exhibitors, apart from the meetings, the main interest is international visibility. Moreover, Première Vision is an enormous source of inspiration and answers to all the questions one might have about world fashion. 27 workshops of several nationalities met there: Japan, Senegal, India, Belgium, Italy, Romania, France, Bulgaria, Portugal, China and many others. There were also conferences, exhibitions and partnerships.
But PremièreVision is not just that! It is also an event that supports young designers. In fact, the salon is associated with the Hyeres International Fashion and Photography Festival, which has prestigious members such as Karl Lagarfeld on its board. In addition to rewarding the young designers at the festival, Première Vision introduces them to a short list of exhibitors, thus allowing them to make professional contacts and build up a relevant address book; with the added bonus of a real follow-up that can continue even outside the salon.
In short, this unique experience allowed us to meet fashion professionals, renowned suppliers, clothing houses; all the beautiful people who work behind the scenes. We were able to talk with them, about their jobs and the backstage of the fashion world. We were also able to touch some very beautiful materials and discover the upcoming trends. An enriching moment!
