One of the basic pieces of clothing that can be found in every man’s or woman’s wardrobe is the T-shirt. This garment is used to compose most styles, ranging from casual to more chic. It is therefore a real all-rounder. Since then, there has been a new trend: the personalised T-shirt. In order to obtain a satisfactory result, a simple and easy to implement technique is used: flocking. What is it? How do you flock a t-shirt? This is what we invite you to discover in the following article.
Flocking : a method to personalise your t-shirt
By definition, flocking is a process for marking clothing. It is a customisation technique that allows a visual printed on a flex to be transferred directly onto the t-shirt via a thermal pressure process.
This technique gives a different feel to digital printing and gives the printed visual a much sought after vinyl look. Thanks to flocking, it is possible to personalise any type of T-shirt, whether it is light or dark coloured. The duration of the process depends on the design. If you use the services of a flocking company in Montpellier or elsewhere, the cost of this service can vary depending on the complexity of the logo. Over the years, flocking has become one of the most popular printing methods. It offers excellent results with very interesting effects. It is therefore the ideal personalisation process for company T-shirts or lettering. It is also suitable for all materials. Whether the T-shirt is made of polyester or cotton, the result remains the same. One of the reasons why this technique is perfect for T-shirt customisation is that it can be used for personal or professional use. In addition, the finishes are strong and beautiful.
Call on a specialist for the flocking of your printed t-shirts
If you want to customise T-shirts for professional use, it is best to turn to a specialist. Indeed, the customised T-shirt is a marketing and communication tool in its own right. Its advantages as an advertising medium are multiple for companies. It is therefore important that it is of high quality.
The flocking of a T-shirt allows companies to print their logos or other visuals in four colours on printable flex. This ensures that each colour stands out perfectly and remains vivid, even after several washes. This technique is a little more complex to implement, as it requires a little more time and rigour at each stage. For this reason, it is best to leave this task to a specialist company.
With flocking, it is possible to achieve colour gradations and to bring out all the details of the visual. By opting for this printing process, you are not limited in the choice of colours and in the number of garments to be customised. However, we advise you to find out how much you can afford, as flocking is a little more expensive than the traditional method.
How to flock a t-shirt ?
If you wish, you can flock your T-shirts yourself. Still, even if you use the classic process, we recommend that you call on the services of a specialist in this printing technique. This will ensure that the printed design is durable, smooth and visible. Entrusting your T-shirts to a company for classic flocking promotes a more durable use of the garment.
However, if you want to flock your outfits yourself, you will need a cutting plotter, flex rolls and a heat press. Once the customisation design is ready, you need to load the flex roll into the plotter before cutting it according to the computer’s instructions. In this way, the flex sheet is slit to bring out all the details of the logo. Only after this step can the roll be hot-pressed onto the T-shirt. This process produces good results. The bright colours stand out well and are resistant to washing.
However, this is a time-consuming method that is not recommended for personalising a large number of T-shirts. Furthermore, it does not allow for colour gradations.
