What will be the trends for Spring-Summer 2024? Chanel, Miu Miu and Valentino give us a sneak preview. Zoom in!
Paris Fashion Week shook up the fashion industry! Among the catwalks that made their mark were those of Chanel, Miu Miu, Valentino and Y/Project. They gave us a glimpse of what’s to come. Let’s take a look at the key trends for the Spring-Summer 2024 season!
Trends at Valentino
The Valentino show celebrated femininity more than ever. For the Spring-Summer 2024 collection, artistic director Pierpaolo Piccioli is highlighting the female silhouette. A new 3D embroidery technique, called Altorilievo, was introduced to magnify the body. This makes basic pieces such as dresses, shirts and t-shirts more sophisticated. The show also featured the Valentino Garavani VLogo Moon bag, already introduced in the Resort 2024 collection. It will undoubtedly become the star accessory of the Spring-Summer 2024 season.
Trends at Y/Project
Artistic director Glenn Martens has once again caused a sensation with his creativity and avant-garde approach to fashion. For this Spring/Summer 2024 collection, unstructured garments with exaggerated shapes are omnipresent. Trompe-l’oeil motifs were also used to accentuate the silhouettes. Glenn Martens proved his mastery of textures and his ability to play with materials. In particular, he has brought the 90s jogging suit back into fashion. You can count on this streetwear piece for the summer months.
Trends at Chanel
Virginie Viard, artistic director of Chanel, invites us into a sunny, happy world with the Spring-Summer 2024 collection. The collection features sailor suits, multicoloured tweed bathrobes, terrycloth jackets and neoprene suits. And let’s not forget the floral dresses and lace trousers. Virginie Viard juggles sophistication and casualness. Special mention should go to the nighties and colourful swimwear that make you feel like you’re on holiday all year round.
Trends at Miu Miu
The Miu Miu fashion show revealed a host of trends that will set the pace for the Spring-Summer 2024 season. Say hello to the return of the frilly mini-skirt and the school-girl look, a cross between sporty and classy. Half casual, half elegant, Miu Miu‘s silhouettes are easy to wear every day. We couldn’t agree more!
