Nigerian superstar Adekunle Gold offers the unreleased single, “Five Star” (Afro Urban Records/ Platoon). The video, directed by TG Omori, is available since August 30, 2022.
The track is produced by Kel-P and premiered on the “Catch Me If You Can Tour” in North America. A 19-date tour that will continue this summer in Australia, before passing through the United Kingdom and Europe in the fall with a date at La Salle Pleyel in Paris on October 12, 2022.
“Five Star” follows the release of Adekunle Gold’s latest album, “Catch Me If You Can,” available since February 14, 2022, which features the singles “Mercy” and “One Woman” (feat. Ty Dolla $ign). The album has accumulated over 207 million streams to date.
This new project also contains collaborations with Fatoumata Diawara, Stefflon Don, Lucky Daye, Davido, Fousheé and the previous singles “It Is What It Is”, “Sinner” & “High”.
“Catch Me If You Can” follows the albums “Gold” (ranked #7 on the Billboard World Albums Chart), “About 30” (shortlisted for Best World Album at the GRAMMY® Awards) and “AfroPop Vol 1” which includes the hits “Okay” & “Something Different”.
Adekunle Gold recently recorded the official remix of “Dodo” with Tayc, following a freestyle on Le Mouv’ Radio in the show of DJ Muxxa, Mouv Live Club.
