The series The Boys is coming to Prime Video in 2019. After two long years of waiting, the platform has finally revealed the much-anticipated release date for season 4.
The arrogant and madcap superheroes of The Boys series return to the Prime Video streaming platform on 13 June 2024. A promising fourth season full of twists and turns.
A delayed release
In 2023, Hollywood experienced a major crisis that caused numerous delays in film and television production. Actors, writers and producers went on strike for 128 days to demand better working conditions.
The production of The Boys, which finished filming Season 4 in April 2023, was caught up in the whirlwind of conflict. Editing of the episodes came to a standstill and was only able to resume at the end of the year after agreements were reached between the strikers and the major production studios.
Synopsis of the fourth season
Developed for Prime Video by Eric Kripke, the boys series is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
The fantasy world of the series features a team of vigilantes called “The Boys”, led by Billy Hutcher, a contemptuous and narcissistic character. The team’s aim is to fight the Group of Seven, a group of once-popular superheroes who have become corrupt and increasingly dangerous.
This fourth season will focus on the character of Ryan. As Victoria Neuman gets dangerously close to the Oval Office with the help of the Protector, Butcher, whose lies have exhausted the team, loses his position as leader of the Boys. But to save a world in peril, the superheroes must put aside their differences and trust each other again.
