Only a few days left before you can enjoy the eagerly awaited “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it”, the second album from The 1975.
Indeed on February 26, the four Manchester kids (Matty Healy, Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel) request with a new album recorded in Los Angeles and produced alongside Mike Crossey.
This album is a reflection of their generation, as Matty Healy explains: “In 2016, everything has already been done, so all we have to do is try to do it better! My generation consumes music in a completely non-linear way and we need to reflect that. Why create one type of music when nobody consumes just one type of music? We create the same way we consume”!
Our ears meet pop songs like If I Believe You, Lostmyhead, The Sound; but also experimental electro with the eponymous track from the album I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it or Please Be Naked. There’s groovy tracks with heady guitar riffs on She’s American and Love Me… It’s like the 80s all over again, 2016 version, and it feels good!
The 1975 provide us with a second album on the theme of love, from beginning to end, through all the ups and downs of a romantic relationship. They have boundless ambition and the rare talent of those who succeed. “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it” is undoubtedly one of the most important releases of 2016!
