Today we introduce you to Lou Tavano, a pretty redhead we won’t soon forget. Almost 30, this charming Parisian is a real revelation for jazz fans.
A velvety voice, a jazzy universe and a fresh, spontaneous personality – that’s how to sum up the artist. Inspired by Nina Simone and Joni Mitchell, you’re immediately plunged into an exquisite environment, full of influences and warmth. On 3 March, Lou will be releasing her debut album “For you”, the result of a collaboration with pianist-composer-arranger Alexey Asantcheeff.
As a couple, both in the city and on stage, the two artists take us on a journey through their own colourful, rhythmic universe. This is their album. They created, wrote, composed and produced it together, and they tell us their stories, their joys and their despairs, a real bare-bones exposé. But the real strength of this album is the singer’s ability as an interpreter. Each song is inhabited, Lou does more than tell us a simple story, she immerses us fully in it, giving capital importance to each of the words used.
As a gift, the jazzwoman offers us the making of her album :
In concert in Paris at the Duc des Lombards, on 31 March, 1 and 2 April.
