Vote for Lenny Kravitz’s pre-nomination for the NRJ Music Awards
This album takes me back to the roots of my passion for music,” says Lenny Kravitz, “to what I felt when I was in high school. It’s a real rock’n’roll record, raw, with soul, and it literally flowed. “
Considered one of the leading rock musicians of our generation, Lenny Kravitz has transcended genres, styles, races and classes since his career began twenty-five years ago. It has been boosted by the influence of rock, soul and funk music from the 60s and 70s. He signed his return with the release of his tenth studio album, Strut, on 22 September 2014, on Roxie Records / Kobalt label Services. This is a true rock’n’roll record that hits hard rhythmically and explores desire in all its forms, whether purely physical or idealised. The twelve tracks on the album, including ‘New York City’, ‘I Never Want To Let You Down’ and ‘She’s A Beast’, don’t cheat, and that’s the way Lenny Kravitz wanted it. Since the beginning of his career, he has scored numerous hits and sold almost 40 million albums.
As usual, Lenny Kravitz plays guitar, keyboards, drums and percussion. For the final touch, he called on the legendary Bob Clearmountain, the sound engineer who worked on “Let’s Dance” (David Bowie), “Tatoo You” (The Rolling Stones) or “Born in The USA” (Bruce Springsteen). We at the editors love her rocking and sensual voice.
