Kaporal pays tribute to the Mediterranean through a limited edition signed by the French artist Lucas Beaufort.
To celebrate World Ocean Day and its Mediterranean roots, Kaporal collaborates with Lucas Beaufort on its “Kaporal Impact” collection, and invites the artist to customize a selection of 35 eco-designed pieces on the theme of water and biodiversity.
Flower in hand, Gus Gus, the gentle monster, adds to the “Kaporal Impact” collection, an unconventional style. His customization respects an eco-responsible process by using only environmentally friendly acrylic paint. A very limited series of denim pieces (jacket, shorts, jeans) each different and sold on the website of the brand kaporal.com from early July.
Originally from Cannes, Lucas Beaufort is a 41 year old painter who pays tribute to the skate culture through his works. Between his hijacking of magazine covers and selected collaborations (Vans, Adidas, Ellesse…), he creates colorful paintings filled with naive monsters straight out of his dreams. Gus Gus, his flagship character, has emerged from his dream world and helps him build a positive image of the world.
Available in 3 sizes, the Kylan jeans, Jay shorts and Jaden jacket in Lightmed and Bluedmed colors, are made of recycled cotton and polyester (from plastic bottles certified by REPREVE) but also of hemp. Hemp is a natural, ecological and strong fiber that does not require any chemical products for its cultivation and very little water. Kaporal uses for this capsule, hemp from a French culture. “La chanvrière” which is a member of the CELC – European Confederation of Flax and Hemp.
In its Kaporal Impact program, which represents 35% of its total collection, the brand proposes to reduce its environmental impact in the manufacture of its clothing by using more natural or recycled materials, minimizing its water and energy consumption and limiting plastic micro-waste.
The artist gives us his interpretation of water on each of the pieces through a gradation of blues, shapes and lines inspired by the waves and ocean floor. Each illustration is unique. The 35 pieces were hand painted with environmentally friendly acrylic paint. Prices range from 95€ to 160€.
