The most iconic fashion houses put on a breathtaking show during Haute Couture Fashion Week. Here’s a look back!
Haute Couture Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2024 made Paris shine, offering fashion lovers unforgettable moments. From Maison Margiela to Schiaparelli, and from the poetic creations of Juana Martín to the timeless elegance of Elie Saab, each show transported spectators into a unique universe where art and fashion blend harmoniously.
Maison Margiela: an ode to creativity
The Maison Margiela Artisanal 2024 show was certainly the most memorable. John Galliano proved once again that he is a fashion genius. As unexpected as it was stunning, this collection took creativity a step further, combining new techniques with a subtle play on transparency. Trompe-l’œil and imposing details are at the heart of this spectacular show. Special mention must go to Pat McGrath, who imposed her glass skin on the models. A majestic result!
Schiaparelli: between heritage and avant-garde
For his spring-summer 2024 collection, Daniel Roseberry skilfully blended traditional know-how with high-tech elements. The futuristic, sculptural silhouettes turned all codes on their head. Some are even adorned with Swarovski crystals. Daniel Roseberry showcased the surreal spirit of Schiaparelli as never before.
Juana Martín: Andalusian poetry on the catwalk
Juana Martín took us on a sunny journey through the landscapes and traditions of Andalusia with her spring-summer 2024 collection, entitled “La Rosée“. Inspired by the vibrant city of Malaga, the designer presented creations that were as luminous as they were poetic. The jackets are very large, while the dresses are openwork. The fabrics are fluid, for a lighter feel.
Gaurav Gupta: the ascent to spiritual elegance
Gaurav Gupta’s spring-summer 2024 collection is called “Aarohanam” for a reason. The word, inspired by the Sanskrit word for ascent, takes on its full meaning. Each piece is a sign of rebirth. The silhouettes are ample and fluid, but the fabrics are made to measure. The result: XXL capes, surrealist dresses and unstructured jackets.
Zuhair Murad: an invitation to the Mediterranean
Like Juana Martín, Zuhair Murad takes us on an enchanting journey through the Mediterranean. The Lebanese designer has captured the spirit of this ancient civilisation through majestic and dazzling creations, highlighting the strength and beauty of women. Veils, large drapes and chains are all part of the show!
Elie Saab: timeless elegance
For its spring-summer 2024 collection, Elie Saab took over the Palais de Tokyo, transformed into an oriental medina. From dresses adorned with floral embroidery to flowing capes, each piece embodies the feminine aesthetic and timeless sophistication for which the house is renowned.
