The song is an expression of a young woman’s view of the reality in Tel Aviv in 2022, where the national anthem of its population is to live in the moment rather than to secure a future.
Enav Barak (Grape) is a Tel Aviv-based singer, songwriter and producer. The 25 year old artist has an exceptionally mature sound, a signature that draws our curiosity. She offers a very personal interpretation of hip-hop and R&B combined with her Middle Eastern influences and roots.
The story of the song begins when she moved to Tel Aviv and came to use weed because of the stress level she was under in the city. It became a daily habit that consumed more than she used. With her piece, she realizes that sometimes the block to your own evolution is yourself.
“Baked” is not a statement about drugs, but an invitation to dialogue about the issues from the perspective of his generation.
The single is an atypical reggaeton influenced by the Middle Eastern vibe. Grape wrote, composed and produced the track. She likes the idea of this sad realism set to reggaeton beats. In addition, she sampled several members of her family: her dad, her nephew and her little sister – who are also featured in the video. Another nod to her roots!
The clip is available now and the single will be on the Fip radio playlist on 13 May.
