AZ Factory is a joint venture created by Alber Elbaz and Richemont, a smart fashion that cares about the environment. Thanks to an innovative encounter between intelligent design and educational entertainment, AZ Factory has opened its doors.
After his mandates at Guy Laroche, YSL and Lanvin, in 2019, Alber Elbaz announced the creation of AZ Factory in partnership with Richemont. AZ Factory is his return to work and to the people he loves. It also demonstrates his new dynamic approach to innovation and design and his unwavering attention to the real needs of women around the world.
The company is built around the fundamental ideas of respect, trust and love – with a particular focus on creating intimate and special moments of consumption, shared through the Alber & Amigos membership programme. In a modern version of the traditional fashion show, AZ Factory unveiled its origins, its mission and its first product stories with Show Fashion. This digital event, both educational and entertaining, was presented during the official programming of Paris Haute Couture 2021.
With AZ Factory’s first product story, MyBody, Alber re-imagined today’s little black dress. MyBody dresses, tops and leggings are made with AnatoKnit, a knitted fabric specially designed to gently shape the silhouette while providing support and comfort.
The inspiration for the second product story, Switchwear, came from the desire to give the gift of time. Switchwear promises a rapid transformation of the look from casual to fabulous in less than a minute with bodysuits, hoodies, pyjamas and glamorous duchess accessories made from recycled yarn.
The third product story, SuperTech-SuperChic, takes high technology to high fashion. The solution-dyed nylon microfibre fabrics, traditionally used in sportswear, are now being transformed into off-season fashion pieces inspired by couture.
AZ Factory continues with the Pointy Sneaks, which combine the comfort of a trainer with the prolonged visual effect of a pointy toe pump; modular and playful jewellery; and special editions for Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year separate.
AZ Factory was launched worldwide with an exclusively digital and entertainment-oriented approach. In addition to the website aimed directly at consumers, the products are also available in stores exclusively on FARFETCH and NET-A-PORTER. AZ Factory also announced two special experiences immediately following its launch: a live event The Talk Show with Alber Elbaz & Friends with NET-A-PORTER on January 27th, and an immersive virtual experience, the AZ Factory World Tour, now open on FARFETCH.
