After a year of uncertainty, Desigual decided to create an up-cycling clothing collection, completely green.
With the aim of behaving responsibly and making fashion positive, Desigual is committed to the world but also to ourselves, through sustainable fibres and responsible processes so that life continues to be cool. A permanent collection that constantly renews itself, in line with the reason why Desigual works: to behave better every day.
From the Vintage shop to the start-up, via the SME, the large company and now the multinational. Desigual has worked hard over the years with the commitment and responsibility of dressing people. The year 2020 has not been easy, but it has pushed the brand to try to make a difference: it is impossible to save the world, but it tries to help make it better.
Thus, at the beginning of this year, Desigual created Love The World, which represents their very philosophy, their social and environmental commitment. The main objective is to establish a sustainable fashion production model that respects people and the planet. But also a sustainable collection that is 100% committed.
Durable fibres will be found in 30% of their collection by 2021, and in 50% by 2023. Each year Desigual will strive to help the planet and increase this percentage in a responsible manner. Not only with regard to the percentage of sustainable fabric, but also with regard to the entire supply chain. This has led to 100% sustainable collections such as this upcycling capsule inspired by the brand’s origins.
In 1984, Desigual created a jacket made from vintage denim cuts. What better way to present the new permanent sustainable collection than with the brand’s most emblematic garment? Through different pieces of used jeans, designed and produced in Barcelona, this collection pays homage to timeless and eternal denim. Jackets, skirts and overalls that remind us that sustainability also lies in a timeless style, unique and individual to each person.
Desigual has set itself major objectives in the field of ecology in 2021. On the brand’s website, you can discover the Love The World collection and much more.
