The opening of the new Uniqlo store on Avenue Wagram offered an unexpected moment where Japanese culture, Parisian heritage and family entertainment came together.
The opening was designed as a celebration, true to the LifeWear spirit: simple, welcoming and accessible. From the crack of dawn, the first visitors gathered in front of the restored façade. Outside, the atmosphere was warm: guests could enjoy golden waffles and signature drinks created in collaboration with Maurice Sfez Café. Before the shop opened and the mayor of the 17th arrondissement gave his speech, we were treated to taiko drums to round off the inauguration. Then jazz took over inside, performed by the William Chabbey Quartet, an elegant nod to the venue’s musical history.
LifeWear as a brand philosophy
Uniqlo is not a fashion brand like any other. Its concept is based on LifeWear, a philosophy that aims to create simple, functional and high-quality clothing designed to enhance everyday life. LifeWear draws inspiration from the Japanese tradition of simplicity, durability and continuous improvement. Here, there are no fleeting trends: the brand favours timeless, durable and versatile pieces that can be incorporated into any wardrobe. Each garment is designed with particular attention to materials, finishes and comfort, to offer a subtle balance between aesthetics and performance whilst remaining affordable.
The diversity of Uniqlo’s new ranges: fresh and functional
The Wagram store showcases the Spring/Summer 2026 collections, designed for a comfortable, modern and breathable everyday life. The LifeWear Summer 2026 range stands out for its fresh colours, clean lines and technical fabrics suited to the season. True to its philosophy, Uniqlo offers sustainable, versatile and accessible essentials. The Uniqlo C collection, designed by Clare Waight Keller, brings a touch of casual elegance. The silhouettes are fluid, the fabrics lightweight, and together they form a refined wardrobe, designed to accompany every moment of the day. Meanwhile, the Uniqlo U collection, led by Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran, explores a “minimalist neo-core” aesthetic. It features a subtle palette of purple, cream and neutral tones, alongside versatile pieces designed to be layered.

With this opening, Uniqlo is doing more than simply adding a store to its Parisian network. The brand is becoming part of the history of an iconic location and offers a vision of fashion where beauty blends with practicality, where minimalism becomes a way of life. A renaissance that speaks volumes about the brand’s ambition. Uniqlo is making a grand entrance, and Paris is responding in kind.
