The show The Little Prince on Ice is a magical and immersive adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s famous tale, transposed onto the ice.
An adaptation of a classic of French literature
The Little Prince embarks on a journey from planet to planet, just like in the original book. Each encounter with the characters is symbolic. On each planet, he meets iconic characters such as the Rose, the Fox, the King, the Drunkard, the Vain Man, and others. The staging is performed through high-level figure skating, bringing the ice to life. Aerial acrobatics (without harnesses) add an aerial, almost magical dimension. Immersive 360° projections transform the ice into a living screen, depicting stars, planets and comets. The visual effects, skating, projectors and luminous costumes create a sensory experience, giving the audience a powerful, poetic, almost dreamlike experience.
The show is designed for the whole family. Children are amazed by the visual beauty and magic and can play on the rink during the intermission, while adults can appreciate the philosophical depth of the tale and return to their childhood.
Who is Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Little Prince?
It is the story of an aviator stranded in the desert who meets a mysterious prince from another planet. The moral of this book is that what is essential is invisible to the eye and that the most important things are love, friendship and the bonds we form. We are responsible for what we tame, and loving someone means taking care of them and nurturing the relationship. Childhood is a treasure, and the Little Prince’s simple, curious and sincere gaze reveals that true wealth lies within. In short, the moral of the book invites us to cultivate love, simplicity and wonder, and to restore value to human bonds. In the end, the Little Prince chooses to return to his Rose, leaving the aviator to meditate on the beauty and fragility of human bonds.
