Discover three of the editors’ favourite brands for this summer’s “special holiday“!
#1 MYRIAM ROUAH – her news
Born in 1986 in Clamart in the Paris region, Myriam Rouah graduated from the Atelier Chardon Savard in 2008. Former trainee of Jean Charles de Castelbajac, Sandrine Philippe or Ken Okada, she created her own jewellery brand “Les bijoux MR” sold at Citadium as well as in other design boutiques such as Mr Fish and Artoyz. Following her various collaborations in the field of costume and luxury leather goods, she felt the need to return to her first love, clothing. After presenting her first collection LOVE AND BLACK DIAMOND at Couture Fashion Week in July 2013, she presented the next part of her story LIGHT + SHADE in July 2014, during Couture Fashion Week. At the editors’ we like the Couture side of the woman, the streetwear/chic side of the man and the arty design of the jewellery which shows the offbeat universe of the designer.

#2 SHUTTER CLOTHING – their news
Created more than a year ago, Shutter Clothing is a streetwear brand sold in more than 30 shops in France and abroad. Shutter Clothing was born at the crossroads of two passions: streetwear and photography. Each model is produced in limited series with a 100% cotton fabric, allowing you to feel unique. Their values are rooted in the urban and artistic environment, just like those of their home town, Lyon. From the bustling streets of San Francisco to the small ghost town of Romania, from the urban paradoxes of Shanghai to the underground parties of London, each photograph brings back memories and archives that they have chosen to sublimate and make timeless by creating a brand of artistic t-shirts. An innovative philosophy that wants everyone to put themselves in the place of the photographer from a technical point of view thanks to the camera settings that are always present (on the label or directly embroidered on the t-shirt) but also from a feeling point of view since the context of the visual, of the moment the photo was taken is also explained for each of the models. At the editors’ we like the association of these two universes that highlight urban photography.

#3 ZWITTER – their news
A men’s and women’s wardrobe created in 2011 with a timeless universe. Zwitter wonders why clothing should be considered as a simple adornment, often synonymous with a distorted shell of the personality. The designer revisits the basics so that everyone remains true to himself and to the image he gives off. “V I N T A G E Y O U R S E L F” is an impulsive collection, an uninhibited animalisation of people. An inspiration that comes from our environment; our society is like a jungle, where behaviour and body language become incomprehensible. At the editors’ we love this freedom that the designer shows us through her minimalist and discreet pieces.
