To celebrate the return of freedom, the ready-to-wear website Zalando reveals a colorful campaign entitled “Creators of Optimism” in collaboration with the rapper Jok’Air and the singer and guitarist Waxx.
The duo covers the famous 90s hit Show me Love by Robin S. in a video specially choreographed by dancer Salif Gueye along with a TikTok and Instagram challenge. For this cover, the two artists have taken some liberties by adding rhythms and sounds rap / r’n’b. In an exclusive interview for Kodd Magazine, Jok’Air and Waxx talk about their personal vision of music and discovery, while revealing the background of this project.
Jok’Air, why did you accept this collaboration with Zalando?
Jok’Air: “For many reasons, but mainly for the love of collaboration. I had the choice to work with Waxx and Salif, “killers” each in their own field, so it was a pleasure.”
Speaking of Salif Gueye, what do you think of this singular artist?
Jok’Air: “He’s an international star, I had the chance to work with him, I’m flattered. “
Do you think that Show me Love can be the last hit of the summer?
Jok’Air : “Of course, considering the pleasure I have to sing this hit on stage, it can very well accompany us this summer and even in winter, there is no real season anymore, time flies! “
What is the discovery for you?
Jok’Air: “For me discovery is reaching the goal of one’s curiosity.”
Waxx, musician, producer and guitarist is an artist with multiple labels. Between rock, rap and r’n’b he accepted to answer the call of optimism.
How do you explain this fusion with the artist Jok’Air?
Waxx: “I have some infinities with the rap by my previous collaborations. With Jok’Air it immediately matched, I find that our worlds unify well.”
Waxx, how did you manage to mix your three universes?
Waxx: “We had already crossed paths at several events and today rap is plural, there are all kinds of rap, it is quite complicated to do as in the old days when this music was more singular. I am a rocker to rapper! ”
What is discovery for you?
Waxx: “For me discovery is happiness.”
