Il pleut un peu, beaucoup, passionnément… is Virginie Achard’s first Feel Good book. It’s a book for which words have always had a unique place in her life.
As a child, she realised their power and the emotions they can convey. As a teenager, she wrote song lyrics, and later, as a young woman, she opted for the job of copywriter, which required short sentences and texts. The desire to write a novel came later, and she had to allow herself to do so.
The story came about while Virginie was staying with friends in a villa in the south-east of France. She explains: “It started raining all day. And contrary to all expectations, I didn’t get depressed! Usually, I think of it as a wasted holiday and mope around. But I didn’t. So I imagined a family going on holiday and finding themselves in the rain instead of the sun: what would that do for them ? That was really the genesis of the story, because the plot has evolved a lot since then !”
The project has been launched, and this novel will be about couples, families, love, friendships, but above all about a woman at the end of her tether, adultery, chance encounters and discoveries. With this promising 370-page debut novel, Virginie Achard has already enjoyed a small success, selling over 400 books and ranking in the top 100 Amazon Kindle bestsellers in the general literature category. A finalist for the E.A.E 2023 self-published novel award and a Librinova favourite, we recommend it !
