With Amazônico, Granado captures the vibrant essence of Brazil — a scent that evokes the Amazon and reveals a sophisticated olfactory composition.
Granado — the iconic house founded in 1870 in Rio de Janeiro — has unveiled Amazônico, its new eau de parfum paying homage to the power and poetry of the Amazon. Conceived as a sensory narrative, this one-of-a-kind fragrance honours the brand’s heritage of celebrating Brazilian nature.
An olfactory tale shaped by the forest
From the very first seconds, the fragrance opens with a verdant freshness reminiscent of the forest’s humid breath. The top-note trio — olibanum, orange and raspberry — brings a fruity radiance, as clear as a beam of sunlight piercing the canopy.
Cocoa, ylang-ylang and maté then cloak the woods in a creamy, almost enveloping warmth. This is where the intensity settles in, without ever overwhelming the composition. Finally, vibrant patchouli, generous sandalwood and velvety tonka extend the trail. The result is striking.
The signature of a master perfumer
Amazônico bears the hallmark of master perfumer Ilias Ermenidis. Born in Constantinople and raised in Athens, he discovered the magic of scents at a young age in his father’s factory in Istanbul. After graduating from ISIPCA in Paris, he became the first apprentice recruited by Firmenich, where he built an international career and a reputation as an in-house artist. Today, his signature is unmistakable.

Granado, a historic Brazilian house
Granado is Brazil’s most traditional perfumery. Once known as the Official Pharmacy of the Imperial Family, it has upheld for over 150 years an expertise blending natural ingredients, heritage and innovation. Its collections celebrate the country’s botanical richness through bottles adorned with tropical motifs.
Since 2017, the house has expanded internationally with nine standalone boutiques and more than 40 points of sale across Europe — not to mention its presence in luxury institutions such as Galeries Lafayette, La Samaritaine and Liberty London.
