L’empreinte du geste : to mark the Journées des métiers d’art, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris is showcasing 18 designers and artists, all very different from each other, with worlds of their own.
The 18 enthusiasts include artists such as sculptors, ceramists, stonemasons, cabinet-makers and taxidermists (yes, they do!).
While we wait for the exhibition to open (29 March to 3 April), we’ve decided to focus on two of these artists, Florie Dupont and Judith Bourdin, jeweller and textile designer respectively. Jeweller Florie Dupont takes us into a very special world, one that is both dark and poetic, both disturbing and marvellous, featuring an organic, plant-based world. Her creations are full of ambiguity, as they are both luxury jewellery and contemporary art, enough to unsettle us – and we love it!
Judith Bourdin, originally an embroidery designer, is now at the head of her own brand, Denovembre. This pretty brand provides us with scarves, each more beautiful than the last. Made by hand, these scarves take us on a journey through abstract landscapes that we’re happy to immerse ourselves in.
