The Cannes Festival is imposing new rules
The Cannes Film Festival 2025 kicked off on 13 May, and for its 78th edition it is updating its dress code.. “For reasons of decency”, it is now forbidden to wear see-through dresses, or to wear cumbersome dresses with long trains. What’s more, the new measures are “aimed at streamlining organisation, but also at redefining what the Festival considers “appropriate” for a prestigious ceremony” (Grazia).

A look back at the Flames ceremony
The third edition of the ceremony took place at La Seine Musicale, and was marked by a new feature: the event was made accessible to the public, and a public vote was introduced. In all, 56 artists were nominated in 25 different categories. The big winners this year were Tiakola, who took four awards, including Male Artist of the Year. Shay “was crowned female artist of the year and was awarded the Flamme for stage revelation for her show at the Zénith in Paris”(Le Monde).
