In the heart of Paris, Buenas brings warmth to Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis. It’s a sunny, gourmet spot where Spain comes to the table, with generous tapas, Iberian wines and a warm welcome.
Since January 2025, the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis has taken on a Spanish feel thanks to Buenas, the first restaurant opened by Toufik Seddik. After a long career as an operations manager in the restaurant industry, this passionate entrepreneur decided to launch a project that reflected his personality: a warm, generous and festive establishment. Together with his team, he welcomes each guest with infectious energy, instantly creating a friendly atmosphere where you feel right at home.
Toufik Seddik imagined Buenas as an ode to Spanish-style happiness, where you can come alone, as a couple, with friends or family. Here, everything is designed for sharing: tapas galore, homemade sangria, carefully selected wines and affordable prices. It’s a philosophy that makes Buenas a real neighbourhood hub.
A flamboyant setting worthy of Pedro Almodóvar
As soon as you walk through the door, the tone is set. The restaurant’s visual universe was entrusted to Stéphane-Armando Garcia, the venue’s artistic director. The result? Discover a dazzling décor, inspired by the films of Pedro Almodóvar, with a skilfully measured touch of kitsch. Far from the uniform, minimalist interiors that abound in today’s restaurants, Buenas dares to use colour and imagination.
This sunny, whimsical décor is the perfect backdrop to showcase the heart of the restaurant: its authentic, generous cuisine, orchestrated by chef Paulina Eshono.
Spanish food at its best
On the menu, you won’t find frozen tapas or clichéd dishes, but rather a selection of carefully prepared homemade recipes. Inspired by Spanish regional traditions, Paulina Eshono’s cuisine focuses on simplicity and emotion. It evokes the flavours of holidays and family meals.
Among the must-try dishes are patatas bravas, pollo al ajillo negro (crispy chicken with black garlic), chipirones rebozados (fried squid with spicy aioli), cordero asado (tender lamb shoulder served with mashed potatoes) and arroces al forno, a flavourful oven-baked rice dish. Special mention goes to the tortilla minute, served with or without onion, runny or firm depending on your preference, which will make you forget all the versions you’ve tried elsewhere.
The desserts are delicious. On the menu: churros con chocolate, torrija, tarta de queso with persimmon coulis or the classic crema catalana. So many sweet treats that invite you to dig in with your spoon without restraint. Finally, the restaurant offers a very affordable lunch menu at £20 for a starter, main course and dessert. And regularly, festive evenings and special menus inspired by Spanish regions enrich the experience.
