It’s well known that make-up works wonders and contouring is a whole new way of approaching the art of make-up.
Adopted by the biggest Hollywood stars, this technique is much less practiced in France. Discover how to perfectly redesign your face in just a few brush strokes.
Contouring is the art of sculpting your face by playing on areas of light and shadow, using a light and a dark powder. If you have a complex about your non-existent cheekbones, a nose that is too big or a face shape that you don’t like, then contouring is for you. Inspired by the selfie generation and reality TV star Kim Kardashian, this technique has now been adopted by Jlo, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and many others. However, men can also use this type of make-up.
But beware, if the art of contouring literally changes a face, you should not abuse it too much.
Before applying the contouring, don’t hesitate to apply your usual base and foundation. I recommend the Black Up contouring stick available at Sephora which is a two-in-one product. Not only is it a great product, but it takes up much less place of two powders. Apply the stick as in the picture above, to refine the areas you want. Once you’re done, all you need to do is boost your complexion with a powder.
