Woolf Works, the magnificent ballet in three acts from the Royal Ballet inspired by the writings of the modern icon Virginia Woolf, will be live broadcasted in cinemas on Wednesday, February 8th.
Described by The Guardian as “exalting and charming”, the opera in three acts, managed by Wayne McGregor and rewarded by an Olivier Award, is inspired by three news short stories of Virginia Woolf, Mrs Dalloway, Orlando and The Waves. The talented Max Richter will take care of the sound environment of the ballet.
Interpreted by a troop composed of the most talented dancers of the Royal Ballet, Virginia Woolf’s role will be danced by Alessandra Ferri, returning to the Royal Ballet after leaving it in 1985. She will dance beside Sarah Lamb, Natalia Osipova, Akane Takada, Francesca Hayward, Federico Bonelli Steven McRae and Edward Watson.
