Don’t know Kygo yet ? Not a chance.
You may not be familiar with the name, but you’re bound to have danced at least once to his previous hits ‘Firestone’ (feat. Conrad) and ‘Stole The Show’ (feat. Parson James). Kygo, whose real name is Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, is none other than a young Norwegian electronic music prodigy.
This new virtuoso is a pure autodidact who learned everything in front of his computer, and at just 24 years of age, he is already a huge success. His millions of listens on Youtube and Soundcloud are almost countless (around 80), and Spotify even named him ‘Revelation of the Year’ in 2015 with his 1 billion listens (no less). And the triumph doesn’t stop there, between his contract with Sony and his remarkable performances at Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza, the young man is currently on tour across North America and Europe. Unfortunately, his concert in Paris on 12 April is already sold out. But that’s just a temporary reprieve, because Kygo is far from finished with us!
Today, Kygo offers us a pure delight in anticipation of the (very) forthcoming release of his album. The video for his latest track, “Stay” feat Maty Noyes. The track, released 2 months ago, has already been a huge success, and once again the artist is showing the rest of the world her incredible voice. Following in the footsteps of Conrad and Parson James, it’s the turn of 18-year-old singer Maty Noyes to take centre stage (we’ve already had the chance to hear her voice on The Weeknd’s ‘Angel’). It’s the same transporting DNA as the DJ’s other tracks, still right in the middle of tropical house but with its own singularity.
But what we really like, from the bottom of our hearts, is the video. It’s a video that’s both engaging and relaxing, a delicate mix in which Kygo pulls it off wonderfully. The artist is willingly committed to universal love, and that’s good to see from an artist of his stature. We enter the heart of a passionate love story between two ravishing lesbians. Over the course of the music, we follow the passions, heartbreaks and reconciliations of the two young women, just like any other couple. A real invitation to travel, to love and to tolerance, we say bravo!
In anticipation of the postponed release of the album “Cloud Nine”, Kygo offers fans a preview of the album, just HERE.
