The P. Le Moult brand embodies an original lifestyle, combining comfort and sophistication. The most precious family heirlooms are family memories.
Praline Le Moult is a French fashion designer specialising in luxury loungewear, particularly pyjamas. She is the great-granddaughter of Eugène Le Moult, a famous butterfly hunter, whose world inspired her brand. She has built her career independently, outside the orbit of the major fashion houses. She defines her practice as ‘Fashion Fiction’, where storytelling and scenography play a key role in her clothing designs. Her eponymous brand, P. Le Moult, focuses on reissuing the wardrobe of her great-grandfather, the entomologist Eugène Le Moult. It is unisex but inspired by menswear.
The Ocean collection is part of the ‘heritage’ series
Permanent themes anchor the brand, such as Brittany, which echoes Eugène’s roots, and Transatlantique, which refers to his travels between Saint-Nazaire and French Guiana, with sailor collars and naval themes. Each season, P. Le Moult’s signature red and ice blue stripes echo the red and ice blue stripes characteristic of the uniforms worn by prisoners in the penal colonies that marked Eugène’s youth in French Guiana. P. Le Moult’s goal is to dress people while they sleep, because when the body lets go, the mind enters a dreamlike state. We are therefore in the continuity of life!
The Astral collection: when the cosmos takes over our wardrobe
The Astral collection is introduced, evoking the journey of the famous explorer Eugène Le Moult from Le Havre to French Guiana.
The story is that of a winter crossing, the decks of a liner exposed to the cold Atlantic wind; at night, the sky is clear, Orion and Sirius shine above the dark sea. This narrative places the collection in a ‘winter voyage, open sea, starry sky’ atmosphere, which sets the tone for the aesthetic.
The word ‘Astral’ refers to the stars, the night, stargazing, and discreet luxury under the stars. The collection combines the idea of indoor or leisurewear (pyjamas, nightgowns, bathrobes) with that of more formal attire (such as jackets). The materials and patterns emphasise this theme, for example, a velvet jacket to evoke the depth of night, a constellation print on cotton or velvet, night-time tones (navy blue or burgundy) and golden stars.
Praline combines retro style, humour and elegance in its creations. It values craftsmanship, high-quality materials and an aesthetic that is both eccentric and refined. Family is the true story of the individual, and this is reflected in P. Le Moult.
