Chilly Gonzales and Boys Noize are surprisingly releasing a joint album under the name Octave Minds.
This is not the first collaboration for the duo, however, as Boys Noize produced Gonzales’ 2010 album Ivory Tower. Octave Minds sees the very personal styles of Boys Noize and Gonzales blend together as they composed and produced live this album, described by Gonzales as “new age electronic romance” and featuring Chance the Rapper on one track. Gonzales’ piano evokes Philip Glass and Erik Satie. Boys Noize’s electronic beats and layers have never been so subtle and airy. “88 keys and 808 kicks” is Gonzales’ summary of the symbiosis between the 88 keys of his piano and the Roland TR-808 used by Boys Noize. Have a good trip with Octave Minds! After Symmetry Slice, and Anthem, discover the video “In Silence” once again directed by Rolf Bremer.
