Behind the name Hayati Chayehoi lies a young French designer of Comorian origin who excels in the art of blending her two cultures.
From an early age, Hayati watched her mother, developed her creative side and took up dressmaking.
This was followed by a year’s study of applied art, then a BTS in product design, and finally the HAYATI CHAYEHOI brand was born. After winning several top prizes, including first prize at the Arts et talents de l’Océan Indien in 2011 and victory at the Café de Paris competition, she presented her collection at Black Fashion Week Paris in 2014.
More recently, Hayati also had the chance to collaborate with UNIQLO le Marais on their collection with Ines de la Fressange, for her Home line and accessories. The young designer has therefore managed to raise her profile, although she is still too discreet for the brand’s potential.
Today, we’re introducing you to his brand new collection, which is called “Strong and vegetal”. This limited edition is aptly named because, as the designer says, it combines “the strength of concrete and the fragility of plants”. A delightful collection that combines modernity and tradition in a beautiful blend of cultures.
