The Marseille-based brand is celebrating its 20th anniversary in style, unveiling a daring, characterful, and unisex capsule collection.
Founded in Marseille in 2005, American Vintage has established itself over the years as an iconic name in the casual wardrobe. Its promise? Well-cut essentials, easy to wear and timeless, that transcend seasons without ever going out of fashion. It all began with a white T-shirt. Minimalist in appearance, yet endlessly reinvented to suit every desire, this signature piece quickly won over a clientele in search of comfort and authenticity.
A wardrobe that transcends seasons – and borders
Three years later, American Vintage broadened its horizons by launching its first menswear collection. It has since built a gender-fluid silhouette that is both relaxed and refined. Over the past 20 years, the brand has evolved with the times, establishing itself both in France and internationally, thanks to a bold digital strategy and strong retail expansion. Today, American Vintage boasts 138 standalone stores, 34 department store concessions, 21 outlets, 19 affiliate boutiques, and over 1,500 stockists across more than 20 countries – all proudly flying the flag for the brand.
American Vintage has never chased trends – it surpasses them. With its effortlessly cool approach to fashion, the brand champions a style that is accessible and built to last. “American Vintage isn’t just fashion – it’s a way of life,” says founder and CEO Michaël Azoulay.

An anniversary collection that makes a statement!
To mark its 20th anniversary in fitting fashion, American Vintage has gone all out. For several months, the brand’s Style, Product and Pattern-Making teams worked hand in hand to create a unique unisex capsule collection. Their aim? To break the mould and embrace a maximalist aesthetic. “We wanted to make a statement – and have fun with it!” explain Olivier Richaud and Céline Jeandaine, heads of the menswear and womenswear collections.
On the agenda: oversized patches, bold logos and adventurous cuts. The wardrobe includes oversized blazers, mega T-shirts and XXL puffers. As for the colour palette, it spans every tone imaginable – from soft hues (butter yellow, pastel pink) to deep shades (khaki, burgundy) and vibrant pops (grass green, celadon).
The 20 YEARS collection will be released in two waves: the spring-summer pieces launched last April, while the autumn-winter drop is expected this coming September. And here’s the good news: you’ll be able to dress your children, nieces, and little cousins too. More than ever, American Vintage is dressing all generations – with flair.
