For the festive season, Samaritaine is transforming itself into a winter garden, where an imaginary and abundant nature surprises visitors on every floor.
Samaritaine Jardin d’Hiver is also a nod to the shop’s Art Nouveau architecture, with its ivy motifs, chestnut tree leaves and the peacock, emblem of La Samaritaine, in full bloom in the large fresco on the 5th floor. Marie-Louise Cognacq, co-founder of the department stores’ and a keen botanist, even created her own garden in Samoëns, the small village in Haute Savoie where she was born in 1838.
A winter wonderland
Samaritaine unveils an enchanted kingdom in a poetic walk designed in partnership with Thoiry Lumières Sauvages. Fantastic snails, colourful butterflies, giant mushrooms and many other illuminated and fascinating creatures invite you to explore the realm between the figurative and the imaginative.
Flora and fauna invade the department stores’, an unexpected bestiary takes over the emblematic façade, and Loulou’s shop takes on the air of a cabinet of curiosities. On the Rivoli side, the shop windows are transformed into astonishing greenhouses where extraordinary flowers bloom. It’s an opportunity to showcase the unbridled creativity and craftsmanship of six artists who play with surprising couture materials.
A journey between dream and reality
Samaritaine is nurturing its taste for fashion and beauty with pop-ups to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the House of Tasaki, Max Mara’s new autumn-winter collection, the Hunter capsule, and the latest Hermès Beauté and Paula’s Choice creations.
