Rumour confirmed by Maison Martin Margiela, JOHN GALLIANO IS BACK !
We have all witnessed the descent into hell of fashion designer John Galliano following his racist and anti-Semitic remarks. Fired by the House of Dior in 2011, the designer’s addiction to alcohol caused his downfall. Still, some people believed in him. Thus, we were able to witness his comeback step by step and this, in a discreet way… The first comeback took place at Oscar De La Renta’s more than a year ago, in February 2013. Shortly afterwards, he made a name for himself in Russia as Artistic Director of the country’s largest perfume chain, “Etoile”.
A Haute Couture show in January 2015, which promises to be very Galliano ?
After rebuilding his life in silence, the most eccentric English designer made his first appearance this year on Canal+, on September 14th during the show “Le Supplément” (see video below). Following his explanation on the show, a few days later, rumours were circulating about his possible return to the House of Martin Margiela. And today, the brand has confirmed the designer’s participation as Artistic Director of the collection scheduled for January 2015. Forgive or not, we can’t wait to discover Galliano’s first collection for Martin Margiela!
