Image tagging: AI serving algorithms

    Image tagging is an essential practice in artificial intelligence (AI) and visual data processing. Used to improve the identification of images by search engines, it is put to the service of algorithms for better targeting.

    Labeling images to organize them with the help of AI enables trends to be quickly identified. This process involves associating textual information with the visual elements of an image, making it easier for AI systems to analyze and classify them.

    The image tagging technique

    This technique is crucial for various applications, such as object recognition, digital content management and visual search engine optimization. By associating precise tags with an image, AI algorithms can better interpret visual elements, automating complex tasks and improving the user experience in a variety of sectors, such as e-commerce, social networks and security systems.

    Image Tagging involves adding textual tags to specific elements of an image (file names, descriptions, etc.). These tags help to describe and categorize visual content, making images more comprehensible to AI systems. “Tagging” an image means assigning relevant keywords to its components, thus facilitating their identification by image processing algorithms. Some tools even make it possible to tag several photos at once.

    Helping AI to better identify images

    This tagging can be done manually, with experts assigning tags to capture specific details, or automatically, using AI algorithms, for fast, large-scale processing. Semi-automatic tagging combines both approaches, with human review of automatic tags. The main aim is to help AI systems interpret and classify images more accurately. This technique contributes to the creation of intelligible image databases, essential for photo search, classification, content personalization and improved object recognition in complex contexts.
