Focus on the 12 finalists of the LVMH Prize
Over the last few years, Young Fashion Designers have been increasingly brought to the forefront. On November 21, 2013, the LVMH Group therefore launched the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers under 40 who have designed and marketed at least two collections of ready-to-wear male or female.
The Twelve designers selected by forty-two international experts from the world of fashion reflect the international character of the Prize. The success of the competition has attracted more than 600 young graduates from renowned international fashion schools such as Esmod, Polimoda, Parsons, Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, L’IFM Paris, La Cambre…
The jury is made up of eight Artistic Directors of the LVMH Group’s Houses: Nicolas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton), Marc Jacobs (Marc Jacobs), Karl Lagerfeld (Fendi), Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (Kenzo), Phoebe Philo (Céline), Raf Simons (Dior) and Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy); as well as Delphine Arnault (Deputy CEO of Louis Vuitton), Jean-Paul Claverie (Advisor to Bernard Arnault and Director of Corporate Sponsorship of LVMH) and Pierre-Yves Roussel (Chairman and CEO of Fashion Group LVMH).
The winner will receive a 300,000 euro scholarship on May 28th, and personalised assistance for the development of his or her company by a dedicated team within LVMH for one year from the date the LVMH Prize is awarded.
Finally, the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers will reward three young graduates who have completed a full course of study at a fashion school during the year of the Prize. The three winners will receive a €10,000 scholarship and will have the opportunity to join the creative team of one of the Group’s Houses for one year.
