What happened this week? KODD Magazine takes a look back at this week’s highlights.
Rapide, the must-see film starring Paola Locatelli
Released in theaters on April 16, Rapide is shaping up to be this spring’s must-see action thriller. Directed by Morgan S. Dalibert, best known for Balle perdue, the film skillfully blends high-octane tension, adrenaline, and a compelling quest for identity. At its heart is Max, a 17-year-old girl with a burning passion for speed, portrayed with gripping intensity by Paola Locatelli. From her earliest days on the karting tracks, Max has dreamed of one thing: climbing the ranks all the way to Formula 1. But in this fiercely competitive and male-dominated world, her path is strewn with challenges—each more daunting than the last.
Enter a washed-up yet eccentric former driver, played by Alban Lenoir, who becomes her unlikely mentor. Believing in her against all odds, he proves to be a vital ally in her battle against prejudice. Featuring pulse-pounding race sequences, dynamic direction, and deeply human emotional stakes, Rapide plunges audiences into a cinematic experience as thrilling as it is moving. Through Max’s journey, Morgan S. Dalibert delivers a bold film about self-transcendence and resilience, driven by a heroine as fierce as she is endearing.
